Sew Fun for Teens, Part 1

This class is for teens and adults and will include 9 weeks of instruction in 3 different garments; pajama pants, sleeveless dress/jumper, and a skirt. It will include how to use the sewing machine, how to read, layout, and cut out the pattern, and how to properly sew the garment. (Any graduate of Sew Cool Year 1 will be able to do this class.) Limit 4 per class for ages 12 and older (10 and older for Sew Cool students).

Sew Fun for Teens, Part 2

This class is for teens and adults and will include patterns and instructions for the following projects: a bathrobe, a more difficult skirt than Part 1, and a more difficult dress. More advanced techniques will be covered. Serger techniques will be introduced to finish the seam allowances.

SUPER FANTASTIC SQUARE QUILT

This class will feature the Super Simple Squares pattern Dreamtime. It will teach the basics of machine piecing that will result in a 60"x60" quilt or a 60”x72” quilt. Ages 12 and older. This is a 6 hour class. No rotary cutting is necessary since the squares are already cut for you. (If additional time is needed to finish the quilt, sewing time will be 2 hours for $5 on another date.)

MYSTERY QUILT

Have you always wanted to participate in a mystery block-of-the-month??  This program is perfect for you!

Each month, for 6 months, you will receive the pattern and instructions for traditional patchwork blocks.  When you're all finished, you'll have a cute little "Old Glory" Sampler wall-hanging (32” x 24") demonstrating your quilting abilities and patriotic pride.  Patterns include classic blocks found in traditional quilt-making.

EASY BREEZY QUILT

If you have always wanted to learn to quilt, this is a great beginner's pattern. You will learn to rotary cut and machine piece the quilt top.  Class time will not allow quilting to be done, but you can come back during the Open Sewing time on Tuesdays nights to finish your quilts with a reservation. This is a 6 hour class for ages 12 and older. (If additional time is needed to finish the quilt top, sewing time will be 2 hours for $5 on another date.)

REVERSIBLE APRON

Make a darling reversible apron in one class. Students will learn how to read a pattern, lay out the pattern, cut it out and sew it all up! Some sewing experience will be necessary since there will not be time to cover use of the sewing machine in class. It is a 3 hour class for ages 10 and older.

HEIRLOOM BABY BONNET

Working with fine batiste fabric, elegant cotton laces, and satin ribbons, students will learn to create this darling baby bonnet. French sewing by machine techniques will be taught that include lace insertion and pintucks. It is so much fun and the bonnet makes a wonderful baby shower gift that will be admired by all. This is a three hour class for students with some previous machine sewing experience. Limit four per class ages 12 and older.

SENSATIONAL SKIRT DAY

Make a darling a-line skirt with an elastic waist, in a long or medium length.  Students will learn how to layout fabric, pin the pattern, cut it out, and sew it up. This is a "bring your own fabric" class, so you'll need to have 2 ½ yards for a long skirt and 2 yards for a shorter skirt of cotton or cotton/polyester medium weight fabric and C&C all purpose thread to match. Elastic is provided. This is a two hour class for ages 10 and older. Adults will need to get 3 yards of fabric for the longer skirt and 2 ½ yards for the shorter skirt. Some previous sewing experience is required.
